FIT FOR A QUEEN ( Victorian Jewelry Crystal Stick Pin ): It is hard to part with this exquisite reverse crystal carving of a precious pug. (c. 1880-1900) Beloved pets of Queen Victoria, she outlawed the cropping of pug’s ears. This 14KT gold twisted stick pin is a superb example of a rock crystal which has been carved out from the back. The depressions left by the carving are then hand painted in very fine detail, becoming small paintings and sculptures in miniature. Bezel set in gold, this sweet pug must have been someone’s family pet. Notice the fine Victorian collar with a large golden bell in the front. These crystals now command spiraling prices and are highly sought after. Most likely English in origin. Condition: Excellent. No flaking. Size: Entire pin is 2 1/2” long, carved crystal is 1/2” in diameter.
