DAINTY, DELIGHTFUL HANDS ( Victorian Jewelry Coral Earrings ): These Victorian coral hands earrings are a delight to touch, hold and wear. (c. 1868-80) The soft radiance of the coral color, the glow from the paste brilliants and the richness of 18KT gold combine to create these dainty delights. The hands are formed of celluloid, invented in 1868 and quickly used by Victorian jewelers because of its light weight and availability. Each mirror image hand holds a paste stone and is adorned with an ornate gold cuff. The shepherd’s hook pierced ear wires are set with paste and the hands sway freely when you move your head. These are highly desirable earrings with a delightful touch of whimsy. Condition: Excellent. Size: 1 1/2” long, 3/8” wide, 1/4” deep.
