AGATE CIRCLE OF HOPE ( Victorian Jewelry Agate Brooch ): Stark and striking, the beauty of banded agate remains one of my personal favorites. It has an air of sophistication and elegance that is timeless. A perfect example is this circular banded agate and Sterling Silver Victorian brooch. (c. 1880) Look at the beauty and color in the striations of the agate. Mounted in the center of the circle is a three dimensional fully articulated anchor. Banded agate stripes form a perfect cross with sterling tips and fine silver wire chains. True to the spirit of Victorian Romanticism, the anchor is used as a symbol of hope and steadfastness. The original C clasp is in place, although the pin stem appears to be a replacement. Condition: Excellent. Size: 1 1/2 in diameter, 1/4 deep.
