LADY IN THE MOON: This fine Sterling Silver Art Nouveau locket is suspended from a fleur-de-lis watch pin. Art Nouveau (1895 - 1910) often featured the female body draped, as in this die-struck locket, with a element of fantasy and sensual overtones. This design depicts a lady with flowing hair and draperies cradled in a crescent moon, adrift amongst clouds and stars. The locket is hinged on one side with a slight indentation for opening on the other side. A picture or personal momento can be placed inside. Both locket and watch pin are marked "Sterling". The beaded edge fluer-de-lis watch pin has a large hook on the back. The watch pin can be removed to hold other items. Early safety clasp works by pushing the catch up. Condition: Excellent. Some fine scratches on back of locket. NOT sold separately. Total length 2 3/8", width 1 1/4". Locket 1 1/4" diameter. Watch pin 1" long.
