LUCKY LADY ( Antique Style Vintage Porcelain Pug Dog ): Have you ever noticed other breeds may be placed on rugged bases, but pugs are most frequently perched on regal cushions – often with gold tassels at the corners – like this one. It’s only what your pugs deserve! I call this pug “Vintage” because she comes from an old collection and was covered with a coating of “Vintage” dirt before I bathed her. I don’t know her origin, she is not marked. My guess is that she is an old reproduction of a Meissen Pug – done by numerous porcelain companies. She is very nicely molded – even down to the hair of her coat – and beautifully decorated with a fancy gold trimmed red collar and multicolored fanciful flowers on the base. The flowers are hand painted, not transfers. Though not really a pair (different flowers on the base), she goes nicely with “LUCKY LAD” (PP477). Condition: Excellent. For full disclosure I have photographed a very small chip under one of her tassels, not visible except from the bottom. Size: 5 ½”, high, 5” long, 2 ¾” deep.
