Pug Figurines: PP477

LUCKY LAD ( Antique Style Vintage Porcelain Pug Dog ): It is only fitting that you usually see pugs seated on regal cushions, often with golden tassels at the corners, like this one. After all, pugs are the breed of royalty. I call this pug “Vintage” because he comes from an old collection and was covered with a coating of “Vintage” dirt before I bathed him. I don’t know his origin, he is not marked. My guess is that he is an old reproduction of a Meissen Pug – done by numerous porcelain companies. He is very nicely molded – even down to the hair of his coat (see close-up photo) – and beautifully decorated with a fancy gold trimmed blue collar and lovely lavender flowers on the base. The flowers are hand painted, not transfers. Though not really a pair (different flowers on the base), he goes nicely with “LUCKY LADY” (PP478). Condition: Excellent. Size: 5 3/4”, high, 4 7/8” long, 2 3/4” deep.
