PUGNACIOUS MEISSEN PUG ( Meissen Porcelain Pug Dog ): The look on this pug’s face seems like she is saying “don’t mess with me”. It could be she is protecting her owner. Our pugs act very fierce in doing so – at least when they are inside and the strange dog being walked by is outside. More likely she is protecting her food! In any case she is a very lovely Meissen Pug sporting a light blue collar with 5 golden bells and a gold buckle in the back. Meissen pugs are special. They are flawlessly molded using the finest hard paste porcelain from mold forms dating back to the 1700’s & 1800’s. They are decorated by some of Europe’s most talented porcelain artists featuring the fine feathered hairs around the black of their faces and their “beauty spots”. I love them because they form the link between my precious pugs and those owned by the Royalty of Europe and, before that, the Royalty of China. Very few breeds, if any, can match that lineage. She is marked with the famous Meissen crossed swords hallmark, her model number “78738” and “550”, probably the decorator’s number. Condition: Excellent. She may look like she is white in my photos, but actually has a light fawn colored coat. Size: 2 ¾” high, 3” long, 1 ¼” wide.
