Pug Figurines: PP374

MAGICAL MEISSEN ( Meissen Porcelain Pug Dog ): I can’t look at a Meissen Pug – whose original molding was done two or three centuries ago – without looking at our own pugs and being so proud and happy about their lineage. Meissen started making porcelain pug figurines, and adding pugs to their human figurines, soon after they first discovered the oriental secret to making beautiful, delicate hard paste porcelain in 1710. There have been minor changes over the centuries (shorter muzzles and legs), but they have essentially remained our same loveable pugs for all that time. This is a lovely little girl, more affordable than most, to add to your present Meissen Pug family or with which to start your Meissen Pug collection. Though she looks white in my photos, she is actually a very light fawn color. Impressed on her belly are her model “78505”, along with “6” (probably her molder) and “AB”. The red number “2375” identifies her decorating artist. Condition: Excellent. Size: 2 1/2” high, 2 1/4” long.
