MOM, YOU’RE THE BEST! ( Meissen Porcelain Pug Dog ): Judging from the happy look on the face of this suckling puppy, he thinks his mom is the best – and I do to. This lovely pug pair – first molded in the 18th or 19th Century – could become one of the prize pugs of your collection. She is relatively large for a Meissen Pug, is seated on a grassy platform along with her pup and has beautiful large soulful eyes in her finely decorated face. Some Meissen Pugs have delicate bows on their collars, some are adorned with golden bells – well this beauty has both! I have taken special photos to show you the incredible bow and also one to show the puppy’s darling curled tail tucked snuggly under mom. I was unable to capture some of the special details in my photos – the pug has a finely molded coat of hair all over her body and she is a light fawn color, not pure white. The base has molded grass covering it. Meissen Pugs are made of the finest German hard paste porcelain and decorated by some of Europe’s finest porcelain artists. Though made from an antique mold, this pug was made sometime after 1974, since it carries the 5 digit model number “78585”, the molder “11 AD”, the artist (in red) “2814” and the famous Meissen Crossed Swords Hallmark. Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs. Size: Pug 5 1/2” high, 5 1/2” long. Base 4 3/4” long, 3/4” high. Total height 6 1/4”
