Pug Figurines: PP239

PROUD OLD PUG DOG ( Victorian Porcelain Pug Dog ): You can see in the carriage of this lovely old porcelain pug that he is very proud of his heritage. He is nicely molded and hand painted. He is also rare - Iíve never seen this pug before during 30 years of collecting. Standing Victorian pugs are much rarer than seated ones. I would guess that he is German made, though Iím not sure. Condition: Good. He has small firing cracks left front and right rear paws (seen in photo) and under his left haunch. There is a small chip of the left front "pinky" (seen in photo). Much of the gold paint is worn off the collar and medallion - almost always true of Victorian pugs. Size: 4 3/8" high, 5" long.
