CLASSY STAFFORDSHIRE PUG DOG: Great detail in molding and decoration of this slip cast (hollow) English Porcelain Pug Dog. He dates from the late Victorian era, wearing the classical golden bell decorated collar. Though he is of medium quality compared to the fine Dresden and Meissen Porcelain Pugs, he is a step above most of the pugs of his time and he is unusually well preserved. He has a lovely light fawn colored coat which I had trouble capturing in my photos, except in the close-up of the face. Condition: Very good. He has some dark defects in his glaze on left haunch and back of head, but his facial decoration is intact and he has significantly more gold remaining on his bells than most. Size: 5 3/8" high, 4 3/4" long, 2 3/4" deep.
