BEAUTIFUL MEISSEN PUG MOTHER & SUCKLING PUP: One of the many things I love about Meissen Porcelain Pug Dogs is the soft and loving look on their faces. Even though these pugs are made from 18th & 19th Century molds, the facial expressions are much more similar to our precious playful pugs of today, as opposed to many of the Victorian Porcelain Pugs. These two pugs were made in the 20th century from those old molds, but are a little different from most in that they are posed on a grassy base decorated with a bright orange flower and some leaves. They are made of the finest hard paste porcelain. You can see an unusual amount of detail in the perfect molding of the coat and tail and notice the pupís fine curly tail. The hand painting has the typical delicacy of Meissen Mops - including the face and feet of the pup. Mom has a feint fawn tint over much of her, which may be hard to see in the photos. The blue collar has gilt edges. Condition: Mint. The pug mom is 5 1/2" tall and 5" from chest to tail. The base is 4 3/4" long, 3" wide & 3/4" high. The total height is 6 1/8".
