ELFRINK DRAGON BROOCH ( Brad Elfrink Bone Dragon Brooch ): Brad Elfrink is undoubtedly one of the most talented modern day Bakelite artists. At times he has turned his talent to other materials and this Dragon Brooch, carved from Bone, is probably my all time favorite. Not only is his body covered with three-dimensional scales but each feather on his wing is detailed. The front wing is three-dimensional with his other wing behind it. Really amazing! His fierce face is set off with a shining black eye. It has a safety clasp pin back and is signed “Brad Elfrink” and dated “9.25.7”.

Brad made this for me and I have always cherished it. It is from my personal collection and I won't mind if it lives with me a bit longer. I just wanted you to see and appreciate Brad's exquisite talent.

Condition: Excellent.
Size: 3 3/8” high, 2” wide, 1/2” deep.

VINTAGE RED & WHITE STACK ( Vintage Bakelite Five Bangle Bracelet Stack ): I know not everyone enjoys Bangle stacks but I love them. There is nothing like the clacking of Bakelite Bangles as you walk along! The two white ones are actually a very light cream color. They and the central red bangle all have the same design – half of a large blossom mirrored and inverted on the other side though the red one has much deeper carving. The top red bangle has five roses carved around it and the bottom one has four larger roses around it. You can wear all of them or just some of them in any combination. The red bangles all test positive for Vintage Bakelite. (c. 1940's) The two white ones do not test positive and, despite looking like Bakelite, they are probably Vintage Lucite. (c. 1950's) Whatever, that gives me a good excuse to count them as “spacers” in the price – which you cannot beat!

Condition: Excellent.
Size: 2 white bangles 5/8” wide, 3/8” deep; top red 3/4” wide, 1/4” deep; central red 3/4” wide, 3/8” deep; bottom red 1” wide, 1/4” deep. All have 2 1/2” inner opening.

VINTAGE THISTLE PENDANT ( Vintage Bakelite Thistle Pendant & Neck Chain ): Our model, Alyssa, generally does not like us to photograph her somewhat revealing vintage dress but it matches this Vintage Bakelite Thistle Pendant (c. 1930's) so well that she has relented on this occasion. The dark orange carved thistle is beautifully set in silver leaves with a silver twisted vine and seeds or berries. They are all mounted on a bed of marbleized green Bakelite leaves. The thistle hangs from it original bale and decorative chain necklace. I believe they are made of brass since the oxidized areas are green, not black as with silver. The chain has a ring clasp. We have shown all views of the lovely three-dimensional thistle. You can wear it with your vintage dress just as Alyssa has.

Condition: Thistle excellent. Some oxidation of chain.
Size: 2 1/8” long not including bale, 1 5/8” wide, 5/8” deep. 2 7/8” long with bale. Chain 21” long.

PRYSTAL BLUE HAND ( Vintage Prystal Bakelite Hand Brooch / Pin ): Everyone loves Crystal Clear Prystal! This Vintage Blue Prystal Hand Brooch (c. 1940's) makes a nice sized statement piece. It is decorated with gold nail polish and a gold colored chain around the wrist. It has a safety clasp pin back. Your friends (and strangers, too) will ask “Where did you get that!” I love it! Show them you've got style!

Condition: Excellent.
Size: 3 1/4” long, 1 1/2” wide, 1/4” deep.

SCARAB CLAMPER ( Vintage Carved Bakelite Clamper Bracelet ): Add a little Egyptian Revival to your wrist. Scarab Beetles were symbolic of resurrection in ancient Egypt. This lovely Vintage Marbleized Rootbeer Bakelite Clamper (c. 1940's) decorated with a large carved Scarab is just the thing for those of you unable to wear small vintage bangles. This bracelet has a plain (uncarved) back with a deeply carved front on which the Scarab rests. You can see how the light makes it stand out. And what a yummy color!

Condition: Excellent. Closes firmly.
Size: Outer dimensions 3” wide, 2 1/2” high. Bracelet itself is 3/4” wide, 1/4” deep in back and 1/2” deep at Scarab. Inner opening 2 1/4” wide, 1 3/4” high, 6 1/4” diameter.

PARTIAL TO PEACOCKS ( Brad Elfrink Vintage Bakelite Peacock Brooch / Pin ): I love all things Peacock – feathered fans and hats, Peacock Eye Art Nouveau jewelry and Brad Elfrink Peacock Pins made from Vintage Bakelite stock – like this one for instance. You can see from the back view that it is based on a beautiful marbleized blue-green Bakelite. The body and head are a dark teal, the back is marbleized green, the wing yellow and rootbeer and the Peacock Eyes of the tail marbleized light green with marbleized dark green centers – all carved with great detail. Gorgeous! It has a safety clasp pin back and bears the familiar “Brad Elfrink” signature and the date “5.3.7”. You can see why I am Partial to Peacocks!

Condition: Excellent.
Size: 3 1/2” high, 2” wide, 1/4” deep

THE FRUITS OF AUTUMN ( Brad Elfrink Reverse Carved Vintage Bakelite Bangle ): I think my good friend, Brad Elfrink, just likes to test his carving skills. He is a master Bakelite artist know for his intricate and complicated carving of Pins and Bangles made from Vintage Bakelite stock – not for his reverse carving a la Judy Clarke. This colorful collection of the Fruits of Autumn demonstrate that he can do it all! The front and back display pumpkins, apples, berries and corn. They are connected on each side by pumpkin vines, leaves and small pumpkins. It is carved in a large clear Vintage Bakelite Bangle which Brad probably restored to its original clarity. It has now regained just a hint of Applejuice patina over the 10 years I have owned and worn it with pride. It contains the familiar “Brad Elfrink” signature and the date “9.6.8”. Add this beautiful Elfrink creation to your collection.

Condition: Excellent.
Size: 1 1/2” wide, 3/8” deep, 2 1/2” inner opening.

YUMMY LEAVES OF BAKELITE ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Brooch / Pin ): What a fabulous vintage find – a Bakelite Dangle Pin. (c. 1930-40) These pins have become very scarce. I think that collectors are hanging onto them because they realize that they have very desirable pieces. This delightful pin has thick hand carved leaves at the top and six gracefully curved caramel hanging leaves with pea soup colored bell shaped dangles at each leaf center. They all hang from a caramel colored celluloid chain. The “bells” are strung on white knotted cords. Time has not dimmed the luster of this scarce dangle pin. The original pin back includes a safety clasp closure. Colorful and appealing, this collector's brooch brings the pulse of the past into your life. Everything old becomes new again and adds a quick fix to update your fashion style. Fun and Fabulous!

Condition: Very good. A few very small white spots and some wear on cords. (Price reflects these.)
Size: Total length 4 1/2” long, hangs 3” wide. Each leaf 1 3/4” long, 1” wide. Bells 1/2” long.

PEACOCK PIN ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Brooch / Pin ): This is an elegant Vintage Bakelite Brooch with a relatively rare decorated metal inlay. It is a 3-dimensional disk engraved with an Art Deco design that reminds me of a Peacock. The plain central area, representing the body, neck and head, is elevated. The metal disk is set in a Bakelite disk swinging from a Bakelite bar. Both are made of marbleized olive Bakelite. Visualize how striking it would look on a beige or other light colored jacket pocket. Like a metal for excellent taste. All eyes will be on you!

Condition: Excellent.
Size: Total length 2 7/8”. Bar 1 3/4” wide, 5/8” high, 3/8” deep. Disk 1 3/4” in diameter, 1/2” deep.

** Frog not included and is for display purposes only**
